April 27, 2009 Evening

Allison got her ventilator out today!! Yay! They removed the tube about 2pm today and as of 5pm, she was hanging in there, they are just concerned about her CO2 levels, which were a bit high. Right now they are monitoring them, at 6pm they were down a bit, so they are hoping she can keep going in that direction. Otherwise, she was doing good--right number of breaths, etc. The doctor warned us they may have to re-intubate her and try again in a few days, that sometimes babies this young have to try a few times before they are completely off--but we are so proud of her, she has done amazing so far. :)
