April 21, 2009 Afternoon

Allison is doing well today. She is up to 940 grams (2lb, 1oz.) and is going up to 27 calorie feeds--every calorie counts! :) She got a bath last night and apparently didn't like the actual bath, but was very happy to be clean once it was all over. Her Respiratory Therapist, who was present for her bath, said she looked at him as if to say "get this tube outta me!" and since she continues to try to pull it out, he is going to accommodate her soon, taking out her tube and giving her just nasal oxygen and see how she does. It may take several times of doing this before she is completely off and they assure us they can put her vent tube back in very quickly if she can't keep up with just nasal oxygen, so we'll see how she does.
