April 15, 2009 Morning

Allison had a good night, her head ultrasound came back normal last night and her x-ray showed her new ET tube is perfectly placed, so that's good. This morning her nurse said her blood gases came back not quite as good as last night and her chest x-ray still showed a bit of fluid, so she gets more diuretic today (oh goody--more diaper changes!) and they'll keep monitoring her. Nancy, her nurse last night, said the blood gas thing is pretty common for micropreemies and it really should start to improve over time. She is tolerating her new higher calorie feedings very well and was nice enough to poop on her own 2 times for Nancy last night. Nancy just loves Ally and is wise to the fact that if Ally is quiet and not setting off her monitors--she's up to something! Yesterday it was wiggling her fingers up under her little nasal tube so she could yank it out. Last night, she was pulling off her monitor sticky things. That's good clean fun!
