April 13, 2009 Evening

Allison has had a pretty stable day today. We spoke with her doctor again today, her x-ray this morning was hazy again and a little worse, about back to what it was last week. They gave her Albuterol this morning for her breathing and lungs; but she didn't tolerate it very well--one side effect is an increased heart rate and Ally exhibited that, so they are going to try a different medicine once her heart rate goes back down, possibly around midnight tonight. But, she did say clinically she is still doing very well, her blood gases this morning were good and she was responding well to the diuretic they gave her to help get rid of some of the excess fluid. They are moving her up to a 22 then a 24 calorie formula supplement (she was getting 20), so that should help her get bigger quicker, which is one thing they continue to stress, that she just needs to get bigger.
