April 23, 2009 Morning

Allison had a good night, though not as good as last night. She apparently desated a lot more (her oxygen levels went down), though she rebounded on her own most times. Her nurse, Karen, feels it is because the vent settings went from 30 to 26 yesterday in an effort to start getting her off it. That may have also caused her blood gases to be worse, which they were a bit this morning. So, Dr. Esparza will likely put the vent settings back up a bit, it may have been too ambitious to go down 4 points in one day. They did more blood work this morning to check for infection so we should have those results later this morning. But, her heart rate was much better overnight, in the 160s and 170s, so that's good.
