May 22, 2009 Afternoon

Allison is doing much better today--she is much more awake and alert (of course this photo shows her zonked out after our visit) and seems to just feel better. Her tummy is much less distended and she seems to be really ready to get her food back. Dr. Esparza hadn't been able to do rounds yet this morning due to a new emergency admit, but the nurse expected she would take the IV out and let Allie have some food back tonight. Her blood work from this morning came back completely normal, no signs of any infection, sickness, etc., so we're extremely relieved. She also managed to gain 1 oz., she is up to 3lb. 8oz. :)
